During the severe german winter, Paul and Christian are participating in the FS Meteor Cruise 86/4 in the Tyrrhenian Sea from Dubrovnik (Croatia) to Palma de Mallorca. The main target of this expedition is to sample the submarine hydrothermal fields around Panarea and Palinuro. Therefore they will use gravity cores from these areas to investigate the pore water geochemistry for toxic elements which are strongly enriched in this fluids.
